76 mm systems TROCAL 76 double seal passive house complying with ift guideline WA-15/2

The concept behind a passive house works only with a refined thermal insulation that limits the annual heating needs to 15 kWh per square metre of living space. This allows a building to be heated alone from passive energy sources without the need for a separate heating system. One of the most important components here is the window system. The slender profile sight lines presented by TROCAL 76 with the aluminium cover not only allow a modern design with large glazed areas, but also increase solar heat gains.

The passive house institute ift in Rosenheim calculates the thermal insulation value for the PVC-U window frame in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10077-2. The condition here is a value Uf less than 0.96 W/(m²K). Ultimately, though, it is not solely the Uf value that decides the passive house suitability of a window, but also the Uw value, i.e. the thermal insulation values for the whole window. This must be ≤ 0.8 W/(m²K).

Thanks to the two upgrade technologies AluClip Pro and proEnergyTec, the double seal system TROCAL 76 exhibits a Uf value of 0.93 W(m²K), fulfilling precisely these passive house requirements under the ift guideline WA-15/2.

TROCAL 76 AluClip Pro gives you the best of two worlds: PVC-U and aluminium in the one innovative system. PVC-U provides the optimal thermal and sound insulation in addition to functional reliability. Aluminium presents a convincing elegance, the best weather resistance, and a wide range of colours. Yet another advantage – the aluminium takes over the load bearing functions, so no steel reinforcements are needed in the window sash.

In the passive house variant complying with ift guideline WA-15/2, the reinforcing chambers in both the sash and the frame were foam filled with proEnergyTec. This technology achieves the highest thermal insulation values and can be recycled easily at a later date.

Our greenline principle: energy efficient window systems, lead free stabilisers in virgin material, and intelligent recycling concepts provide that extra sustainability.

  • TROCAL 76 double seal system, passive house suitability complying with ift guideline WA-15/2.
  • Five chamber design with 76 mm installation depth.
  • Requirements for passive house compatible components: Uf < 0.96 W/(m2K) and Uw ≤ 0.8 W/(m2K).
  • The combination with AluClip Pro and proEnergyTec exhibits a Uf value of 0.93 W/(m2K).
  • AluClip Pro takes over a static function in the sash, making steel unnecessary.
  • proEnergyTec – this technology involves foam filling the chambers inside the profile for better thermal insulation.
  • Triple glazing up to 44 mm thick.
  • Elegant aluminium design: painted, powder finished, or anodised – virtually unlimited colour potential.
